Role overview
C-Tech Ltd is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to support the delivery of carbon fibre composite solutions for marine, aerospace, defence, and other high-performance applications. This is a practical, customer-facing position that combines technical understanding, relationship management, and problem-solving to move projects from early ideas through design, manufacturing, and final delivery.
The company is recognised for designing and producing carbon fibre components used in demanding sectors, including the America’s Cup, SailGP, and aerospace projects. The role is based at the Rosebank Road office and factory site in Avondale, Auckland, and involves working with a team of around 20 in the office and 65 across the wider business.
What the role involves
- Handle customer enquiries promptly and professionally, including the administrative follow-up needed to keep projects moving.
- Guide projects from the first client request through concept development, design, quotation, manufacturing, and delivery.
- Work in close coordination with the engineering team and production staff.
- Prepare quotations and sales documents accurately.
- Enter and manage lead, customer, and order details in the CRM system.
- Translate client needs into clear specifications for manufacturing.
- Act as the main point of contact between customers and the production team.
- Stay actively involved during the manufacturing process and contribute on the factory floor when needed.
- Support the company’s quality standards and continuous improvement mindset.
- Maintain clear communication with clients and internal teams about timelines and deadlines.
Candidate profile
The ideal applicant will bring an engineering or related qualification, along with a genuine interest in marine, aerospace, or industrial sectors. Experience with composite materials and an understanding of structural design are important for success in this role.
Strong commercial awareness, confident interpersonal skills, and excellent written and verbal communication are expected. The company is looking for someone with the energy to help grow sales, a collaborative approach, and a willingness to contribute positively to the team culture.
Why join C-Tech
- Join a globally connected organisation with operations in New Zealand and Spain.
- Help transform customer requirements into high-quality engineered solutions.
- Work in an approachable, energetic environment that values initiative and a sense of humour.
