Job Overview
The Technical Records Officer oversees and evaluates all stages of maintenance, overhaul, modifications, and inspections conducted on the airline's fleet. The role involves ensuring precise and timely documentation in both physical log books and the computerized fleet management system. Clearing any discrepancies related to technical records must be done in adherence to the company's policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitoring and updating the computerized fleet management system with maintenance schedules, component replacements, modifications, and maintenance data from Electronic Tech Logs and Engineering Orders to maintain accurate historical records.
- Ensuring all maintenance completion records from Line, Base, and Workshop are promptly recorded for each aircraft in both logbooks and electronic systems.
- Handling the build and tree data for Aircraft, Engine, Auxiliary Power Units (APU), and Landing Gear components.
- Updating the Navigation database according to the AIRAC Cycle for both the fleet and the simulator.
- Coordinating and following up on technical queries from engineering, stores, and maintenance teams.
- Reviewing and preparing aircraft records for aircraft re-deliveries and providing support for lease arrangements.
- Reporting completed Service Bulletins to Airbus and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) as required.
- Updating Engine and APU maintenance logs with replacement and shop visit entries, ensuring synchronization between physical logbooks and the digital system.
- Providing monthly utilization reports of Aircraft, Engine, and APUs to Finance, Quality Assurance, Planning, and Lessors.
- Collaborating with Quality Assurance to prepare documents required for Civil Aviation Authority approvals for issuing Airworthiness Review Certificates (ARC) within designated timelines, maintaining all Airworthiness Directives compliance records and certificates.
- Supporting third-party customers and Air Arabia hubs as necessary.
- Performing analyses and delivering accurate, timely reports to Management, Engineering, Finance, the Civil Aviation Authority, and other stakeholders, ensuring data security and procedure compliance.
- Generating various recurrent reports with proper auditing, review, and verification to ensure quality before dissemination.
- Providing appropriate documentation during audits.
- Keeping technical and professional knowledge current through workshops, publications, and networking.
- Contributing to team goals by achieving required results and training new technical records personnel.
- Ensuring proper archiving and storage of technical records per company and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher diploma or certificate in Management or related fields from an accredited institute, with a preference for Bachelor's degree in Management/Administration or equivalent.
- Additional training in Compliance, Document Control, Librarianship, and Quality Assurance is advantageous.
- Proficient with technology tools and Microsoft Office suite, especially advanced Excel skills.
- Professional affiliations related to the aviation or airline industries are a beneficial asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities in English, including reporting skills.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a comparable role involving records or document control in aviation, preferably with exposure to Airbus A320 family aircraft.
- Familiarity with airworthiness program documentation and Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) standards.
- Understanding of the relationship between Maintenance Planning, Records, and Airworthiness programs.
- Basic knowledge of airline operations, flight operations standards, and regulations.
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to multitask effectively with strong accuracy.
- Efficient in managing data and resources cost-effectively.
