Job description
Role Overview
The Technical Assistant will provide both technical and administrative assistance following Company guidelines to maintain accurate, compliant, and efficient departmental workflows and systems.
Reporting Structure and Interactions
- Reports directly to the Project Manager for Dredging.
- No direct reports.
- Regular interaction with NFW Offplot Dredging teams, departmental secretarial support in NFW Offplot and Major Projects divisions, and key contacts across the Company.
- Frequent liaison with IT, Facilities Management, Environmental Management System (EMS), Security, and General Services units.
- Occasional engagement with external consultants and suppliers.
Work Environment and Responsibilities
- Operate within a dynamic team while maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism related to all administrative and performance matters.
- Work according to financial authority limits and approved budgets for the position.
- Ensure compliance with Company safety, health, environment, and quality standards throughout all activities.
- Support the Qatarization Program by aiding in the development of Qatari employees, a requirement for expatriate staff.
- Adhere to antitrust and competition laws and internal firewall policies in all business activities.
Core Duties
- Deliver comprehensive administrative support to project teams ensuring technical goals are achieved within defined quality, scope, budget, and timeline.
- Review databases and perform verification of complex administrative assignments to guarantee data integrity, reliability, and compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain, organize, update, and retrieve data within corporate systems such as SAP and Access, ensuring accuracy and ease of access.
- Assist in preparing and compiling detailed reports, statistics, and presentations adhering to Company formatting and documentation norms.
- Detect and resolve data processing issues providing initial troubleshooting to prevent workflow disruptions.
- Cross-check complex clerical work for accuracy and departmental compliance.
- Act as a technical reference for colleagues, offering guidance about standard practices and precedents.
- Coordinate logistical and administrative activities for internal and external visitors, including transportation, training enrollments, relocations, and procurement of essential supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Minimum secondary education equivalent to 12 years of formal schooling.
- At least five years of relevant experience in a similar technical/administrative role.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Advanced computer proficiency including keyboarding and use of standard office software.
