About the team
Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is among Europe’s leading universities and has a tradition spanning more than 500 years. It is known for demanding academic education and outstanding research.
Within the university administration, the Press and Communications unit acts as the link between the university and the public. The team keeps audiences informed about developments in study, research, and campus life through media relations and the university’s own publications. Its work includes research magazines, newsletters, web formats, videos, social media, and targeted internal communication for LMU members.
Role summary
LMU is looking for a Team Assistant for Central Communications based in Munich. The position is paid according to TV-L E8 and is available part-time at 50%. The starting date is as soon as possible.
What you will do
- Handle organizational and administrative duties for the communications team.
- Independently manage administrative workflows, especially in the HR and finance areas.
- Process incoming invoices by recording, checking, and allocating them correctly.
- Prepare contracts for freelancers and employees and coordinate with the HR department.
- Support communications projects such as press conferences.
- Coordinate external service providers.
- Plan and organize appointments for the communications team.
- Carry out standard secretarial work.
- Help design and co-organize internal information formats such as town hall meetings.
What LMU is looking for
- Completed vocational training in administration, business, or a comparable field.
- Relevant experience in administration and secretarial work.
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and reliably, with a proactive mindset.
- Strong organizational skills plus good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Very good written and spoken German and English.
- Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and familiarity with databases and CMS systems.
- Interest in continuous learning and willingness to get comfortable with new tools and systems.
