Job Overview
We are looking for a Systems Engineer to assist in the design and execution of intricate aerospace and unmanned system projects. This role demands excellent technical evaluation skills, methodical thinking, and effective engagement with clients, suppliers, and cross-functional teams within a dynamic development context.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and overseeing system requirements, architectures, and interfaces integrating electrical, avionics, and powertrain components.
- Gather, analyze, and manage requirements throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to convert operational demands into technical solutions.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to facilitate system integration and solve technical challenges.
- Engage in design assessments, risk analysis, issue resolution, and project readiness procedures.
- Support verification and validation efforts including test planning, integration, and flight testing stages.
- Participate in safety and certification activities like hazard identification and system safety evaluations.
- Implement systems engineering methodologies and industry best practices to ensure efficient product delivery.
- Contribute to supplier collaboration, technical evaluations, and customer-aligned engineering tasks as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience as a Systems Engineer within aerospace, defense, automotive, motorsport, unmanned systems, or similarly advanced technological fields.
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts such as requirements management, integration, verification, validation, and product lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of aircraft electrical, avionics, battery & energy storage, electric propulsion, power electronics, flight control, mission systems, or integrated vehicle systems.
- Familiarity with aerospace safety standards and development regulations.
- Experience using systems engineering and requirements tools like Jama, Polarion, Cameo, or Enterprise Architect is a plus.
- Strong communication skills coupled with problem-solving and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Capability to function effectively in diverse teams and adjust to shifting requirements within fast-paced development environments.
- Mandatory fluency in English; proficiency in German and other languages is advantageous for collaboration with international teams and partners.
