Job Summary
We seek a Surveyor Helper to assist the surveying team with on-site civil and infrastructure survey tasks. The role involves supporting the Land Surveyor through site measurements, setting-out, level verification, and managing survey tools and equipment effectively under supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Land Surveyor in conducting field surveys, including setting-out, leveling, and measurements.
- Manage and maintain survey instruments and related tools.
- Hold and position rods, prisms, ranging poles, and auxiliary survey devices as needed.
- Help mark survey points such as benchmarks, reference points, alignments, and elevations.
- Assist with setting-out excavation, pipelines, utilities, manholes, roads, and related civil infrastructures.
- Verify levels, slopes, coordinates, and alignment against approved drawings under supervision.
- Install and preserve stakes, pegs, markers, and control points at the project site.
- Accurately document field measurements and survey data under the Surveyor's guidance.
- Protect all survey points, benchmarks, and gear from damage or disruption.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of survey equipment for readiness.
- Collaborate with site engineers, foremen, and construction crews as directed.
- Adhere strictly to all project safety protocols and wear required protective gear.
- Perform additional survey support tasks assigned by Surveyor or Site Engineer.
Requirements
- Basic education or related vocational training.
- At least 6 years experience assisting surveying activities, ideally in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Preferred background in civil works including roads, drainage, underground utilities, or similar.
- Familiarity with standard survey instruments such as Total Station, Auto Level, GPS devices, and leveling staffs.
- Ability to interpret basic survey marks, levels, and on-site instructions accurately.
- Physically capable of outdoor work for prolonged durations.
- Strong team collaboration skills for site environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy.
- Comprehensive understanding of construction site safety requirements.
