Position Overview
SOVO Alpha, under SagePaths Group, is looking for a diligent and service-focused Student Residence Management Specialist to directly handle the daily functions of our student housing. This position ensures a safe, clean, and efficiently managed living space with attentive support for student residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily residence operations, including front desk, housekeeping, security, maintenance, and resident support services.
- Maintain cleanliness, functionality, safety, and upkeep of all dorm rooms, shared areas, study zones, and facilities.
- Manage resident procedures such as check-in/check-out, room assignments, and upkeep of resident records.
- Liaise with external vendors and service contractors to ensure prompt maintenance and service delivery.
- Track residence occupancy and ensure consistent quality in service provision.
- Develop a positive, respectful, and inclusive living environment fostering student welfare and discipline.
- Offer pastoral care and daily support particularly to first-time residents living away from home.
- Implement residence rules and disciplinary measures fairly and professionally; promptly address behavior or welfare concerns and escalate serious cases appropriately.
- Support students in cultivating responsible living habits and respect for shared spaces.
- Supervise residence personnel including cleaners, maintenance workers, security, and vendors, ensuring adherence to operational standards through guidance and performance monitoring.
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, fire, and emergency regulations.
- Perform regular facility and security inspections, maintain updated resident records, and respond effectively to emergencies or urgent repairs.
- Document incidents and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
- Promote student engagement by organizing or supporting activities that improve social integration and cultural awareness, assist with newcomer orientation, and encourage a welcoming community atmosphere.
- Handle administrative tasks such as record keeping, financial processes including budgeting, procurement, billing, invoicing, and report generation.
- Work collaboratively with management to enhance residence services and operational procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in student housing, dormitories, serviced apartments, hospitality, student care, or similar sectors is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate and responsible approach toward young adults.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities coupled with a keen attention to detail.
- Capable of managing student welfare, discipline, and emergencies professionally and calmly.
- Effective team leadership skills to supervise operational staff successfully.
- Availability to work weekday evenings (4:00 pm to 10:30 pm) and full weekends; rest days scheduled on weekdays.
- Preference for stay-in accommodation; stay-out considered.
- Experience in student residence management, hospitality operations, or youth residential care is advantageous.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese to communicate with international students and families.
Working Conditions
- Location: Novena, Singapore.
- Working hours involve evenings on weekdays and entire weekends.
- Rest days arranged on weekdays based on operational requirements.
- Stay-in arrangement preferred but optional stay-out arrangements may be accepted.
