Strategic Sourcing Manager

Role Overview

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Guildford, working primarily onsite with some hybrid flexibility as well as occasional international travel. This position is central to managing supplier relationships, controlling expenditures, and driving value throughout our UK Supply Chain. The successful candidate will take charge of pivotal sourcing categories, developing strategies that bolster both commercial success and operational efficiency for Aramark and Avendra International.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies aligned with business goals and operational requirements.
• Lead full-spectrum sourcing processes including RFI/RFP issuance, supplier negotiation, contracting, and ongoing management.
• Oversee supplier relationships, monitor performance, and maintain commercial agreements.
• Conduct detailed spend analyses to uncover cost-saving and value-add opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to procurement policies, governance standards, and industry best practices.
• Collaborate closely with logistics and operational teams to synchronize sourcing with supply chain priorities.
• Support development of new products and categories through trials and approval procedures.
• Manage supplier onboarding, due diligence activities, and contract execution.
• Champion sustainability and ethical sourcing efforts within assigned categories.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum of three years’ proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management.
• Experience in foodservice, retail, or related supply chain sectors.
• Strong skills in commercial negotiation and contract management.
• Ability to manage supplier partnerships and evaluate performance effectively.
• Confident communicator able to engage stakeholders at various levels and functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of, or progress towards, a CIPS qualification.
• Experience in initiatives supporting sustainability or responsible sourcing.
