Strategic Affairs & Governance (General Counsel)

Role Overview

This position involves providing comprehensive strategic legal and commercial guidance covering investments, governance, contracts, negotiations, and corporate frameworks. The successful candidate will coordinate with external legal advisors, support transaction processes, manage contract-related risks, and offer advice on litigation strategies as well as corporate governance matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer legal support for investment transactions and negotiations to ensure compliance and strategic advantage.
• Manage relationships and coordination efforts with local and international external legal counsel.
• Analyze, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements.
• Provide expert guidance on governance issues, legal structures, and litigation approaches.
• Assist in due diligence processes and facilitate the successful execution of transactions.

Candidate Requirements

• Over ten years of experience in commercial legal work, corporate advisory, or handling transactions.
• Being a qualified lawyer is favorable but not mandatory.
• Possess a robust legal network with solid knowledge of the legal systems in Qatar and internationally.
• Demonstrated experience in mergers and acquisitions, contract law, governance, negotiations, or corporate structural arrangements.
