Role Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher, your contribution is vital to maintaining a safe, orderly, and welcoming shopping atmosphere for customers. Your duties include retrieving shopping carts from various locations such as cart corrals, parking areas, and the store perimeter, and returning them to their proper storage places following approved safety procedures. Friendly interactions with customers combined with a commitment to safety are key to this role, facilitating smooth store operations and providing an excellent opportunity to develop retail, teamwork, and customer service skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support customer service by collecting shopping carts from designated areas and returning them safely to storage zones as per Walmart's authorized procedures, ensuring accurate log completion.
• Respond quickly to requests from registers and customer service teams, assisting with carrying customers’ purchases and verifying receipts when necessary.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks including restrooms, adhering to safety protocols regarding chemical use, disposal, and equipment handling; conduct mandatory equipment inspections prior to operation.
• Comply with all safety and emergency guidelines including hazardous communication, lockout/tagout, and bloodborne pathogen procedures to sustain a safe environment.
• Promote a hazard-free workplace by using required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear and reflective vests, conducting safety sweeps, and following company policies that support cleanliness and safety.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being available for various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet business needs and uphold consistent customer service standards.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during overnight shifts, requiring careful planning to maintain energy and focus.
• Execute physically demanding activities including prolonged standing, bending, lifting inventory or equipment up to 50 lbs, and repetitive stocking and organizing with attention to detail to maintain store standards.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this position is $17.75.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
