About Elders and the Role

We are seeking a permanent, full-time Stock Agent based in the Emerald / Clermont region to join our local team. This role places you as a trusted advisor and primary contact for livestock clients, contributing to their farming success through expert guidance on livestock sales and a wide range of related agricultural products.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture strong, service-oriented relationships with livestock clients.
- Carry out on-farm livestock evaluations and prepare detailed sale listings.
- Manage livestock sales via auctions, paddock sales, feedlot programs, and online platforms.
- Provide clients with accurate market analysis and pricing insights.
- Recognize and act on cross-selling opportunities in agency, finance, insurance, and retail domains.
- Stay informed on current livestock market trends and seasonal variations.
Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated experience in livestock handling or sales processing, such as station or feedlot work.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and client service capabilities.
- Competency in assessing livestock condition and market value precisely.
- Current driver’s license and a valid selling license, or willingness to obtain one.
- Genuine enthusiasm for supporting rural communities and the agricultural sector.
- Ability to provide evidence of Q-Fever vaccination or immunity, or readiness to get vaccinated.
