About the Role
Join Queensland SES as a State Capability Officer (AO6) where you'll play a crucial role in developing statewide capability initiatives that empower frontline volunteers and staff. Your work will focus on designing and implementing training programs and learning systems that enhance operational readiness and community safety.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain stakeholder partnerships, identifying needs, dependencies, and risks continuously.
- Oversee financial, procurement, and administrative aspects of capability development programs ensuring effective delivery.
- Prepare executive-level briefings, reports, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Evaluate and implement process improvements, work procedures, and service expansions for successful outcomes.
- Engage with internal and external parties to foster networks that enhance emergency response goals and best practices.
- Support organisational projects and change initiatives related to capability development, ensuring trainers access updated training programs.
- Manage and report on state-based capability efforts, providing recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Role Requirements and Conditions
- Possession of a minimum C Class Driver's Licence (non-restricted).
- Volunteer experience or participation in a volunteer environment is essential.
- This is a designated uniformed SES position requiring participation in night and weekend shifts as needed.
- Willingness to be part of an on-call roster during emergency operations, which may include extended hours, night shifts, weekends, and potential travel to regional, intrastate, interstate locations, or deployments.
