About the Team
The Product Design team at Stripe crafts user-centric experiences, collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and researchers throughout the product lifecycle. You will join the Risk team, responsible for facilitating smooth business onboarding, fostering trust, ensuring compliance, and promoting growth while safeguarding users and the broader Stripe ecosystem.
Role Overview
This position requires designing user experiences that simplify complex processes in a sensitive and impactful domain, turning intricate systems into seamless, trustworthy interfaces that reduce friction for legitimate users.
Key Responsibilities
- Transform complicated systems, policies, and operational limits into clear and user-friendly designs.
- Spot and leverage opportunities for enhanced consistency across various user journeys and interfaces.
- Collaborate extensively with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other stakeholders to guide product strategy and achieve business and user goals.
- Balance both visionary long-term designs and practical short-term solutions.
- Create prototypes and share ideas effectively through storytelling and demonstrations.
- Use both qualitative insights and quantitative data to guide decision-making and measure the impact of your work.
- Elevate design quality, emphasizing trust and excellence in this critical domain.
- Work closely with engineering teams to uphold high standards in design implementation and contribute to shared systems enhancing organization-wide design coherence.
Candidate Profile
We seek individuals with a minimum of 10 years’ product design experience at technology-focused companies, showcasing a portfolio with superior craftsmanship, system-level thinking, and comprehensive design skills, including AI tool understanding. Experience navigating complex products with diverse stakeholders and constraints, plus the ability to influence product direction beyond mere execution is essential. Strong communication skills enabling clear, persuasive design explanations are required.
Preferred traits include systemic thinking to design scalable solutions, strong product judgment, dedication to high-quality outcomes from concept to launch, ease moving between strategic and detailed design work, enthusiasm for ambiguous and strategic challenges, and adaptability to fast-changing priorities driven by policies or operational needs.
Work Location Expectations
Employees based in certain locations, including Dublin, Ireland, are expected to work fully on-site to support collaboration and user engagement. Generally, at least 50% of work time at local offices is expected, with specific teams setting their requirements based on operational needs.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary band for this role in the primary location ranges from 112,800 to 169,200 annually. Compensation is dependent on factors such as experience level, qualifications, and location and includes potential equity stakes, bonuses, retirement plans, healthcare, and wellness benefits.
