Sports Solutions Architect

About the Role

The Sports Solutions Architect will play a vital role in designing and implementing architectural frameworks for sports-related software solutions and applications. This includes projects such as Facility Management Systems, Building Management Systems, Event Applications, Venue Applications, Mobile Applications, and integrations with third-party systems used by event organizers and venue managers, as well as applications in sports science and data science.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end solution and application architecture activities for event and venue management systems, delivering scalable and highly available high-level architectures alongside detailed technical designs and standards.
• Evaluate architectures to confirm alignment with industry best practices and ensure use of suitable technologies, keeping abreast of the latest technological advancements.
• Produce comprehensive architecture documentation illustrating technical views, system dependencies, and integration with existing infrastructures.
• Implement and enforce software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and tools within teams, encouraging best practices in software development.
• Conduct capacity simulations to assess system performance under event and non-event conditions ensuring optimal functionality during events.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 8 years of professional experience in IT.
• A minimum of 5 years in a similar architectural role.
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience with over 8 years in solutions development.
• Relevant software development certifications such as Microsoft Certified Developer or Architect.
• Enterprise Architecture certifications like TOGAF or equivalents.

Technical Expertise

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large-scale technology projects for venue and event management, including custom-developed or pre-packaged solutions supporting sports venues.
• Expertise in multiple solution architecture techniques including scenario-based evaluations, component modeling, and impact analysis.
• Strong proficiency in SDLC, requirements gathering, and creation of both high-level and detailed technical designs.
