Job Overview

We are seeking a Social Assistant to join our Protection department, working specifically within the women and girls safe space or Protection Unit. This role involves delivering direct case management services to survivors of violence against women and girls and conducting awareness sessions for conflict-affected and displaced populations. The Social Assistant operates under the supervision of the Protection Officer and collaborates closely with the Protection Coordinator to support the expanded protection program.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide survivor-focused, age-appropriate case management services at RI-supported women and girls safe spaces, health facilities, and mobile clinics, adhering strictly to protection principles.
• Follow up on cases to ensure timely service delivery throughout case management phases, working alongside the Protection Coordinator on sensitive issues.
• Utilize protection data management tools to confidentially record client information and analyze aggregate data for improved service outcomes.
• Identify available services and coordinate referrals based on survivor consent, facilitating confidential support and strengthening referral pathways for violence survivors.
• Foster a safe and welcoming environment in service locations and collaborate with community health workers to raise awareness and enable effective referrals.
• Disseminate information and education materials integrated within health awareness activities, evaluating community knowledge and service use among women and girls.
• Maintain strong relationships with women committees, community mobilizers, and other groups to encourage involvement in protection activities.
• Conduct unstructured awareness sessions tailored to conflict-affected and displaced women and girls, including survivors of violence.
• Participate in training and capacity building initiatives organized by Protection Officers to enhance skills and client support capabilities.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of protection unit activities, collaborating with various organizations to facilitate referrals and joint efforts.
• Ensure the hotline and referral systems are current and advocate for expanded confidential services aligned with survivor-centered guidelines.
• Collect and share activity data with Monitoring and Evaluation personnel, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Prepare monthly activity reports, attend case review meetings, and manage work plans to meet targeted goals.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, gender studies, or related fields.
• Minimum of two years relevant professional experience in counseling, social work, women's health, or a comparable field.
• Deep commitment to the well-being and recovery of women and girls affected by violence.
• Experience with case management, psychosocial support, and life skills programming.
• Fluent in Arabic (both spoken and written).
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate respect for clients.
• Professional demeanor with strong teamwork and leadership capabilities.
• Competence in managing multiple priorities calmly under pressure in challenging environments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Windows OS).
• Organized and capable of independently managing various tasks within deadlines.
• Critical and creative thinking skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of English language, both oral and written.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
