SOC Analyst

Role Overview

Tata Consultancy Services is hiring an experienced SOC Analyst for its Chennai location. This role is suited to professionals with 6+ years of experience in security operations and monitoring. The interview will be conducted in person, and candidates should be available for the interview on 11 July 2026 in Chennai or Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep watch over a range of security tools and platforms, including SIEM, antivirus, vulnerability management, web proxy, and security patch management systems.
• Create, refine, and maintain SIEM correlation rules to improve alert quality and detection coverage.
• Investigate incidents and events thoroughly to understand scope, impact, and root cause.
• Manage and resolve security incidents in line with response procedures.
• Coordinate reporting and monitoring expectations with business stakeholders so security visibility matches business needs.
• Research new and emerging cyber threats and adapt monitoring practices accordingly.
• Update standard operating procedures and supporting training material when processes change or improve.
• Support and mentor junior team members as part of day-to-day operations.
• Provide oversight and support for facilities and related needs across other offices in the UK whenever required.
• Turn incident and event analysis outcomes into practical recommendations for new monitoring use cases.

Technical Knowledge Required

• Working knowledge of SIEM platforms such as QRadar, ArcSight, Splunk, or Sentinel.
• Understanding of PCs, LAN architectures, routers, hubs, and terminal servers.
• Familiarity with security solutions such as IDS, security event management, and anomaly detection systems.
• Knowledge of VPN technologies and their use in secure network access.
• Ability to use investigation tools such as FTK Imager, memory dump utilities, and threat analysis tools.
• Capability to read, understand, and interpret network diagrams.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech/B.E. in any specialization, a Diploma in any specialization, or a B.Sc. in any specialization.
