Physical and work environment requirements
This role is performed in a restaurant setting where counter areas may be hot from steam and food vapors. The workspace is limited, team members are expected to stand for long stretches, and the job involves preparing both hot and cold foods, using Chinese cook knives and other kitchen tools, and maintaining speed without sacrificing accuracy. The position also requires lifting up to 50 lbs., standing up to four hours, and reaching across 36-inch counters to serve guests. Kitchens can be hot and noisy, storage is limited, shelving is high, and the work pace can change quickly. Strong verbal communication, adaptability, and the ability to handle conflicts or difficult situations are important.
