Role Overview
Launch Recruitment is partnering exclusively with a prominent enterprise seeking a Senior Cyber Threat Hunter to be a core member of their cyber defense unit on a permanent basis. This position merges behavioral threat intelligence, controls-driven research, and cyber defense skills to proactively detect hidden threats by analyzing attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), leveraging behavioral analytics, and utilizing tools such as Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIP).
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct threat hunting activities to identify previously unknown cyber threats using a combination of behavioral patterns and attack methodologies.
- Utilize and manage tools like EDR, SIEM (particularly Splunk), and threat intelligence platforms for in-depth analysis.
- Operate within structured ticketing and case management systems to handle and respond to security events effectively.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to communicate findings and improve security posture.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum five years of experience in cyber defense or Security Operations Center (SOC) roles with exposure to ticketing or case management workflows.
- Proficient with log management and SIEM platforms; hands-on expertise with Splunk is essential.
- Experience working in environments leveraging Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) or ticket queues.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
- A thorough understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure including Windows and Linux environments, Active Directory, cloud platforms, and identity systems.
- Solid working knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework and adversarial TTPs; this is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background or experience in offensive security or red team operations is highly valued but not mandatory.
- Interest or practical experience in applying artificial intelligence and automation to enhance research and analytical processes.
