About NHS 24
NHS 24 is Scotland's distinct provider of national tele-health and tele-care services, offering round-the-clock health advice and information through phone and online platforms to the Scottish population. Operating five regional centers—Aberdeen, Dundee, South Queensferry, Cardonald, and Clydebank—NHS 24 promotes hybrid working arrangements with this position based at any regional center. Candidates need to be within commuting distance for on-site attendance and able to travel between centers for meetings, training, and other duties.
Role Overview
This senior project management role resides in the Transformation, Strategy, Planning and Performance (TSPP) Directorate within the Organisational PMO. The Senior Project Manager will spearhead new service development from concept through implementation and benefits realization, review existing services, and support collaborative efforts with National Boards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and delivery of complex projects comprising multiple work streams aligned with NHS 24’s strategic priorities as set by the Executive Team.
- Facilitate organizational change and strategy execution across the directorate and support collaboration with national healthcare bodies.
- Provide expertise to aid transformation efforts in engagement, insights, and digital services within the directorate.
- Oversee multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful and timely project implementation.
- Manage project dependencies, risks, budgets, and resources, integrating with larger portfolios and programmes as needed.
- Navigate shifting priorities to maintain progress on complex deliverables.
Candidate Requirements
- Educated to SCQF level 11 or holding equivalently relevant postgraduate qualifications or experience in project and portfolio management, preferably within healthcare.
- Possess recognized project or programme management accreditation such as PRINCE2, Agile, or MSP.
- Proven substantial experience managing broad-scope programmes spanning multiple departments or entire organizations, demonstrating expert grasp of project management methods and best practice.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience in core business analysis activities including data modeling, requirements gathering, process and functional design, and high-level system specification.
