Senior Project Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior Project Engineer is tasked with leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure and civil engineering projects based onshore. This role encompasses the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility assessments through to execution, completion, and final handover. The focus is on ensuring projects adhere to safety standards, timelines, budgets, and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university is required.
• Advanced qualifications such as a Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management are desirable.
• Membership in a recognized professional engineering or project management body is advantageous.

Experience

• At least twelve years of progressive experience in engineering and project management for infrastructure and civil engineering projects.
• Proven track record managing projects throughout all lifecycle phases from concept to handover.
• Preferred experience includes working on projects within the oil and gas sector.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate engineering tasks across disciplines during feasibility, concept optimization, FEED, and EPIC phases.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to deliver effective project management services from project initiation to completion and handover.
• Ensure projects meet approved scope, schedules, budget, and quality criteria.
• Develop and maintain Project Execution Plans and QHSE Plans.
• Engage in project planning, scheduling, cost control, contract management, progress reporting, change management, and stage gate approvals.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to produce cost-effective and technically viable designs.
• Resolve engineering and design issues timely to prevent delays.
• Assist in preparing tender documentation and technical packages; evaluate bids and contractor submissions; provide recommendations for tender committees.
• Manage project risk registers with consistent evaluation and mitigation strategies.
• Interface with end users, governmental authorities, joint ventures, and other stakeholders.
• Support contract administration including handling variations and disputes.
• Participate in continuous improvement through updates to company procedures and standards.
• Mentor Qatari Developees through practical on-the-job training and professional guidance.
