Role Overview

The Senior Graphic Designer position based in New York entails collaboration with creative directors, project managers, fellow designers, and clients on a variety of built environment projects including signage, wayfinding systems, and experiential graphic design.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts in the creation, detailing, and implementation of signage, environmental graphics, branding, and print projects.
• Assist the Creative Director by guiding the design team in producing conceptual renderings, artworks, and design intent specifications.
• Engage directly with clients to understand project requirements and deliver persuasive design presentations.
• Devise wayfinding strategies, compile message schedules, and plan signage locations.
• Foster strong partnerships with clients and suppliers to support project success.
• Coordinate with design and project management teams to outline project scope, budgeting, scheduling, and expectations.
• Provide ongoing client liaison throughout all phases of projects.
• Ensure projects comply with predetermined standards and goals.
• Promote a dynamic and enthusiastic creative environment within the design office.
• Mentor junior design staff to support their project contributions and professional growth.

Candidate Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in graphic design or related disciplines.
• At least 5 to 7 years of relevant professional experience, with a portfolio that preferably includes signage design.
• Experience within experiential graphic design or in architectural or industrial design firms is advantageous.
• Familiarity with signage and wayfinding production processes is desirable.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive learner and self-starter.
• Detail-focused with the capacity to adjust in a fast-moving and evolving workplace.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving capabilities.

Additional Information

• Work structure comprises a hybrid model: three days onsite in the New York office and two days remote weekly.
• Salary ranges from $85,000 to $100,000 annually.
