Senior Data Scientist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to join a rapidly expanding consumer technology marketplace company based in Munich. This position involves a hybrid work model, with approximately half of the time spent in the office. The successful candidate will become a vital member of a product-driven Data Science team and will be responsible for driving key projects that directly affect product outcomes, customer experiences, and commercial results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end machine learning projects aimed at solving complex business challenges.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and business teams to ensure successful project delivery and measurable impact.
• Develop scalable ML solutions that address ambiguous and dynamic business problems.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• At least four years of professional experience in Data Science roles.
• Proficiency in Python programming and SQL querying.
• Strong foundation in classical machine learning, statistics, and predictive modeling.
• Hands-on experience managing ML lifecycle from problem definition through deployment, including impact measurement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• A mindset focused on product and business success.
• Experience handling large-scale datasets in production systems.

Preferred Expertise

• Expertise in one or more of the following areas: Dynamic Pricing, Revenue Management, Forecasting, Ranking, Recommendation Systems, Personalization, Experimentation, A/B Testing, and Customer Behavior Modeling.

Technical Skills

• Machine learning frameworks including XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost.
• Feature engineering and product analytics to drive actionable insights.

Compensation and Working Conditions

• Annual base salary range between €80,000 and €105,000, commensurate with experience.
• Work location is Munich, Bavaria, Germany.
• Hybrid work schedule with roughly 50% office attendance.
