Role Overview

The Senior Accountant position is a part-time remote role centered on managing essential accounting duties and ensuring precise financial reporting. Responsibilities include preparing and verifying financial statements, overseeing general ledger transactions, account reconciliation, and accurately recording real estate financing activities. The position also supports budgeting, forecasting, tracking cash flow, and handling close procedures at month-end and year-end.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial statements with accuracy and compliance.
• Manage general ledger transactions and reconcile accounts timely.
• Maintain detailed records of mortgage and real estate financing transactions.
• Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and cash flow monitoring.
• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with management to deliver financial insights and reports.
• Facilitate external audit activities as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Proficiency in financial accounting and reporting, including general ledger oversight.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with accounting practices specific to mortgage, real estate, or finance sectors.
• Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, and analyzing cash flows.
• Knowledge of applicable accounting standards and tax compliance.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities with high precision.
• Effective communication skills to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently in a remote work environment, managing multiple priorities efficiently.
