Job Overview
The Seasonal Production Assistant position supports content creation across multiple ESPN platforms. This temporary role involves various production tasks such as editing video content, transcribing audio, and contributing creative ideas.
Role Duration and Terms
This is a seasonal engagement lasting up to 40 weeks or until 1500 hours are completed, whichever comes first. The company may conclude employment earlier based on business requirements. While this role is part of the ESPN NEXT Program, it does not include associated benefits. Exceptional performance and job availability may lead to potential full-time conversion within the program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver multimedia content promptly and accurately for publication across various ESPN channels.
- Edit and research video elements related to diverse sports events and networks.
- Create various production elements including teases, openings, voice-overs, and montages for live broadcasts.
- Support live coverage by assembling video and sponsorship materials.
- Manage graphic coordination for assigned games, telecasts, or remote live productions.
- Maintain logs and archives of video content and metadata for future reference.
Required Qualifications
- Basic conversational knowledge of multiple sports, focusing on football, basketball, hockey, baseball, softball, and gymnastics.
- Comfortable preparing and communicating original ideas.
- Strong professional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a collaborative team approach.
- Flexible to work varied shifts including nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with ESPN’s content offerings such as specific platforms, shows, and events.
- Understanding current media trends across social, digital, and linear formats.
- Experience using video editing software like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
- Knowledge of server-based media management.
- A proactive and cooperative work style.
Educational Background
- Minimum requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Compensation
The hourly wage for this Charlotte, NC role is $22.93. Depending on position level, selected benefits may be included, such as medical and financial offerings.
