Position Overview
The Scheduling Clerk acts as the expert for daily human resource staffing coordination, responsible for creating and updating staff schedules, managing relief and on-call shifts, and performing necessary data entry and record maintenance. Collaborating closely with leadership, this role ensures adherence to collective agreement rules and produces efficient schedules to minimize overtime and the use of agency staff. Independence in prioritizing tasks and decision-making is expected, aligned with the organization's mission and policies.
Work Details
- Location: Altona Community Memorial Health Centre, Altona, Manitoba
- Employment Type: Temporary full-time (1.0 FTE)
- Work Arrangement: Onsite
- Work Hours: 1.0 FTE, primarily daytime shifts
- Annual Base Hours: 2015
- Start Date: To be mutually agreed upon
- Salary: As per agreement
- Union Status: Non-Union
Experience and Education Requirements
- At least one year working with electronic employee scheduling software
- Minimum three years of experience in a healthcare environment
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
- Preference given to candidates experienced with ESP scheduling software
- Alternate education and experience combinations may be considered
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Familiarity with Collective Agreements and office equipment operation
- Proven ability to manage staff schedules using computerized systems
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to thrive collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams
- Capacity to work independently and to apply critical thinking to problem-solving
- Capability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines in a time-sensitive setting
- Respect and promotion of cultural diversity consistent with regional demographics
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) for bilingual-designated roles
- Respect for confidentiality across various media formats
- Good attendance and work record
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license, access to insured vehicle with $1,000,000 liability coverage
Physical and Additional Requirements
- Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role
- No exposure to hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions
- Occasional evening and weekend work as required
- Travel to other regional facilities may be necessary
- Completion and maintenance of Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry, and Child Abuse Registry checks (costs borne by successful candidate)
