Role Overview
Join NZ Post as a Risk Advisor and play a key role in enhancing the organisation’s risk maturity. You will partner with various teams across the enterprise to provide expert risk advice, independent challenge, and assurance, supporting the effective management of risks across the business. Located in Auckland or Wellington, this role offers hybrid working flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Deliver independent risk guidance, challenge, and partnership to NZ Post stakeholders.
- Assist in identifying and assessing risks while promoting risk-informed decision making.
- Lead consistent use of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework through education, workshops, and capability enhancement.
- Participate in the enterprise assurance program by evaluating controls and their effectiveness.
- Spot and communicate emerging and systemic risks that span multiple functions.
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, preserving the independence of the second line function.
- Produce risk and assurance reports with actionable insights and recommendations.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a collaborative and pragmatic risk professional who thrives on improving risk practices and achieving better business results through partnership. Confidence in advising and challenging stakeholders and building trusted relationships within a complex organisation are essential qualities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years experience in risk management, particularly within a second line risk role.
- Deep understanding of enterprise risk management concepts and current risk trends.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills enabling influence and relationship building.
- Capability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field; professional risk certifications are advantageous.
