Restaurant Utility Worker

Role overview

Zaxbys is looking for a Restaurant Utility Worker to help keep the restaurant clean, safe, and in good working order. This role focuses on everyday housekeeping, deeper cleaning tasks, and basic upkeep of the building and equipment. The restaurant is presented as a lively place for guests and a supportive workplace for team members.

What you'll do

• Finish all training required by Zax LLC.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept restaurant environment.
• Carry out both planned and unplanned cleaning and light maintenance tasks.
• Clean restaurant equipment regularly and perform preventative upkeep.
• Check equipment, operate it, or test it to identify problems.
• Handle minor lighting issues and other basic repair needs.
• Perform intensive cleaning tasks, including pressure washing inside and outside the location.
• Read and understand manuals, work orders, safety rules, operating instructions, and similar documents.
• Inspect grounds, plumbing, electrical fixtures and outlets, kitchen equipment, and the building for early signs of issues.
• Complete minor repairs when needed.
• Keep maintenance logs accurate, organized, and up to date.
• Follow all company standards, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Work in a safe manner and follow all safety practices.
• Stay flexible and be willing to take on tasks beyond the core job duties when needed.
• Report human resources or risk management concerns right away to the General Manager and District Manager.
• Escalate other concerns to a supervisor when appropriate.
• Perform any other duties needed to keep restaurant operations running smoothly.

Requirements

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Full-time availability means 32 to 40 hours per week.
• The schedule must be flexible and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• You should bring leadership qualities, strong organization, and a cooperative approach to working with others.

Physical demands

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods.
• Ability to stoop, bend, crouch, and climb occasionally, including using ladders.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds often, including overhead lifting.
• Frequent use of hands and wrists for grasping and precise hand movements.
• Ability to communicate clearly through speaking, reading, and writing.
• Ability to notice and respond effectively using sight and hearing.
• Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in hot and cold conditions and around food-related and outdoor allergens.
• Ability to work safely around restaurant equipment such as knives, fryers, and other potentially hazardous tools and machines.
