Relief Security Officer

About the Role

Join Securitas UK as a Relief Security Officer covering locations across Hertfordshire and Essex including Hatfield, Harlow, Basildon, Canvey Islands, Chelmsford, and Southend-on-Sea. This role requires working 36 hours per week with shifts spanning days, nights, and weekends. You will be compensated at a rate of 3.50 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Prevent unauthorized site access and monitor security alarms, CCTV, and fire alarms as required.
• Conduct regular internal and external patrols following assignment instructions.
• Perform routine checks on security equipment.
• Manage keys, including locking and unlocking duties per assignment guidelines.
• Maintain detailed and accurate logbooks and records.
• Issue passes to visitors and contractors according to established instructions.
• Offer support, guidance, and information to staff, visitors, and contractors while maintaining site security.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a valid Security Industry Authority (SIA) license.
• Holding a valid driving license.
• Must be a British national eligible for security clearance and have the legal right to work in the UK, with a verifiable UK history of at least five years.
• Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and days.
• Physically able to endure extended periods of walking and standing.
• Strong multitasking capability (e.g., CCTV monitoring, patrol duties, incident management, and report documentation).
• Attention to detail and strict adherence to procedures and policies.
• High integrity, trustworthiness, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
