Opportunity Overview

This role is for a Regional Rail Director based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within Hatch's Middle East operations. The position involves leading programs and business pursuits with a skilled team of multidisciplinary rail experts working on regional projects. The role is entrepreneurial, leveraging Hatch's extensive global network of over 1,000 rail specialists and 9,000 staff worldwide to achieve successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities, formulate winning strategies, assemble successful teams, and secure projects.
• Collaborate with the Global Rail Leadership team to strengthen and grow the practice.
• Oversee major technical programs, managing scope, scheduling, and budgets effectively.
• Lead, organize, and motivate team members to meet program goals.
• Manage relationships and interests of owners and stakeholders.
• Deliver presentations of ideas, concepts, and project specifics to various parties including owners and contractors.
• Facilitate strong partnerships within Hatch and with external collaborators to meet objectives.
• Review and provide constructive feedback on work produced by others in a professional manner.
• Represent Hatch positively through personal interactions and industry events, generating prospects for new work.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related technical field is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineering license and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are highly desirable.
• At least 15 years of experience in rail infrastructure, rolling stock, signaling, or system integration with a minimum of 5 years within the Middle East.
• Proven track record of leading proposals securing contracts exceeding $5 million annually.
• Extensive multidisciplinary project management experience spanning at least 8 years, including leadership roles on at least three projects valued above $50 million.
• Hands-on experience in developing specifications, engineering procedures, standards, financial management, and cost estimating.
• Strong understanding of railway operations, system safety, RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety), and related requirements.
• Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, develop staff, and educate clients.
