About the Role

In this position, reporting to the R&D Team Lead, you will be responsible for preparing and executing tests for various products, adhering to standardized methodologies and requirements. You will apply technical skills and practical knowledge to deliver accurate testing outcomes, ensuring comprehensive documentation of results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of detailed test plans.
  • Manage maintenance operations for laboratory equipment and tools.
  • Detect product discrepancies and recommend corrective measures.
  • Support external certification inspectors during testing of ABB and customer products.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Possess a degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Instrumentation Engineering (B.E., B.Tech, or M.Tech).
  • Have 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in electrical testing, lab operations, internal audits, documentation, and calibration, especially in high-voltage testing environments.
  • Hands-on expertise testing Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear, including High Voltage, Partial Discharge, Mechanical Endurance, Temperature Rise, Impact & IP, and Short-Circuit Testing.
  • Strong grasp and practical application of IEC standards such as IEC 62271, IEC 60060, IEC 61439, IEC 60947, and IEC 61869.
  • Experience with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory quality management, including performing internal audits, managing non-conformities, implementing corrective actions, and preparing laboratory documentation.
  • Competence in evaluating and selecting test benches and suppliers, ensuring equipment meets technical and performance criteria.
  • Proficient in calibrating laboratory instruments such as impulse generators, high-voltage transformers, partial discharge setups, current/voltage sources, oscilloscopes, analyzers, and timing devices.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 internal auditor certification is preferred or mandatory, demonstrating sound knowledge of laboratory quality systems.
