Role Overview
This role is for a QA Analyst / Tester joining a newly established quality function to support a major point-of-sale rollout. The position is fully remote and is expected to run for 6 months. You will work with a highly technical group, help define testing practices from the beginning, and contribute to the quality of new system configurations.
Compensation
Pay is $50 to $65 per hour, with the exact rate tied to experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out manual testing for point-of-sale implementation work.
- Analyze requirements and translate them into clear, detailed test cases.
- Record test procedures, outcomes, and any defects discovered during execution.
- Validate functionality across newly configured systems.
- Assist in creating QA workflows, templates, and supporting documentation from the ground up.
- Surface issues promptly and explain findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Partner closely with business and engineering teams throughout the project.
Required Background
- At least 3 to 5+ years of experience in QA or software testing.
- Strong hands-on manual testing experience.
- Proven ability to write comprehensive test cases.
- Solid documentation habits and strong organizational skills.
- Experience validating restaurant or retail software systems.
- Comfort working independently in a new QA setup.
- Ability to convert requirements into practical test scenarios.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to Toast point-of-sale systems.
- Experience with CrunchTime.
- Prior involvement in point-of-sale implementations.
- Experience building QA processes and standards from scratch.
