Role Overview

The Proposals Writer II acts as a vital contributor within the Proposals team, collaborating with therapeutic and operational experts to define strategic clinical trial approaches across all drug development phases. This role requires crafting clear, persuasive, and client-ready proposals, managing multiple fast-paced projects, and transforming complex scientific and technical content into accessible narratives that position ICON as the preferred choice.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with therapeutic and operational specialists and leadership to shape proposal content and strategy.
• Generate well-structured, compelling narrative text for proposals that clearly articulate clinical trial strategies.
• Manage multiple simultaneous projects ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality or accuracy.
• Self-edit and refine documents to ensure clarity, precision, and persuasive communication.
• Facilitate effective internal communication and collaboration among multidisciplinary teams.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Undergraduate degree or international equivalent; degrees in English, communications, or science are preferable.
• 2-3 years of professional writing experience required; 3-5 years preferred, particularly in composing project completion strategies.
• Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills with exceptional organizational capabilities.
• Ability to manage internal client relationships and work effectively under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with clinical research organization (CRO) or pharmaceutical industry preferred; scientific background advantageous.
• Competency with information systems and standard applications including Microsoft Word (high proficiency mandatory), MS Office suite; experience with Visio and SharePoint is an asset.
• Fluency in English for verbal and written communication is essential.
• Legal authorization to work in the UK or Ireland without current or future employment visa sponsorship requirements.
