ملازمت کی تفصیل
Role overview
This is a 6-month contract opportunity for a Project Support Officer in Sydney or Melbourne, offering a daily rate of $550 to $750 including superannuation, with a hybrid working arrangement. The role sits within a government consulting and research environment and supports advisory, research, evaluation and social policy work delivered for government, not-for-profit and purpose-led stakeholders.
Important: this position is not suited to construction, engineering or IT project support backgrounds. It is designed for someone with experience assisting consulting, advisory, research or evaluation projects and keeping complex project activity organised from start to finish.
About the opportunity
In this position, you will act as the operational support behind several concurrent projects, working with Project Leads and broader teams to help deliver high-quality outcomes. You will manage project systems, documentation, communication and coordination tasks so that delivery stays on track and stakeholders remain informed.
The role suits a detail-oriented professional who enjoys enabling work behind the scenes and understands that even small tasks can be critical to successful project delivery.
Key activities
- Arrange project meetings, schedules, travel and stakeholder engagement activities.
- Draft and format project plans, status reports, presentations, agendas, minutes and action trackers.
- Keep project files, records and documentation accurate and up to date.
- Assist with budgeting, resourcing, reporting and general project administration.
- Track progress across workstreams and follow up on actions, risks and deliverables.
- Use Microsoft 365, Copilot and project management tools to improve efficiency and output quality.
- Provide governance support and secretariat assistance for project and stakeholder meetings.
About you
You should bring at least 3 years of experience supporting projects in government, consulting, research, evaluation, human services or the not-for-profit sector. Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities across multiple projects are essential.
You will also need advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Copilot, along with exposure to project platforms such as Scoro, Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, Microsoft Project or similar systems.
Suitability notes
Candidates whose experience is mainly in construction, engineering or IT project administration, without exposure to consulting or government advisory work, are unlikely to be the right fit for this position.
How to stand out
This role will appeal to someone who is highly organised, comfortable in a fast-paced environment and motivated by work that contributes to meaningful public-impact outcomes.
