Key Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of a large-scale roadworks project ensuring safety, efficiency, and commercial success.

  • Manage project planning, sequencing, monitoring progress, and comprehensive reporting.
  • Guarantee compliance with technical drawings, specifications, quality benchmarks, and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to control costs, manage variations, forecasting, and commercial reporting.
  • Enforce adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Organize and lead project meetings, progress reviews, and communications with senior management.
  • Identify project risks, resolve technical and operational challenges, and maintain momentum throughout all delivery phases.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds a civil engineering qualification (mandatory).
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale roadwork projects.
  • Experience delivering projects within Ireland or the UK is essential.
  • Strong background with main contractors in civil engineering, roads, infrastructure, or heavy civil engineering sectors.
  • Excellent commercial insight with skills in programme management, cost control, risk management, and project performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities managing site teams, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality standards in active civil engineering environments.
  • Strong communication, organizational, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Pragmatic and solutions-driven approach with the ability to make decisive decisions under pressure.
  • Possession of a full, clean Irish driving licence.

Experience with roads, transport infrastructure, drainage, utilities, earthworks, structures, traffic management, and live road environments is highly valued.
