Role Overview
The Procurement Officer will be instrumental in enhancing and streamlining sourcing operations to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services. This role focuses on optimizing inventory levels, developing supplier partnerships, and enforcing procurement policies that align with organizational goals in the construction sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and communicate supply strategies to align with stakeholder objectives.
- Utilize competitive market insights to develop strategies mitigating competitive risks.
- Eliminate internal barriers to delivering exemplary customer service both internally and externally.
- Uphold organizational values by promoting ethical, honest, and professional conduct within procurement activities.
- Administer financial and budgetary responsibilities relevant to procurement scope.
- Identify and implement metrics, tools, and processes to elevate sourcing and supplier effectiveness.
- Lead initiatives to realize cost savings and improve operational cash flow within procurement categories.
- Continuously pursue operational excellence in strategic sourcing activities.
- Develop and apply advanced procurement management strategies to maximize value generation.
- Create and oversee strategic procurement plans to maintain competitive advantage.
- Adopt best practices across the company to meet strategic targets and expand business opportunities.
- Collaborate actively with internal teams and external partners to enhance service delivery while controlling costs.
- Lead identification and analysis of cost reduction opportunities to meet financial goals.
- Manage the rationalization of suppliers, materials, and services in accordance with business needs.
- Support health, safety, and environmental (HSE) initiatives, engage in safety awareness programs, and assist in incident reporting consistent with company and IMS policies.
Educational and Experience Requirements
- Graduate with at least seven years of procurement experience in the construction industry within the GCC region.
