Position Overview
Guggenheim Investments is looking for a Private Placement Analyst to join their high-achieving team in New York City. The role involves collaborating closely within a cross-functional setup to originate, underwrite, and monitor private placement credit, equity, funds, and other illiquid investments. Successful candidates will bring not only strong investment analysis skills but also excellent collaboration abilities to work effectively with broker-dealers, portfolio managers, and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analyzing and executing new private placement issuances, focusing on in-depth credit and relative value assessment.
- Support the secondary trading of private placement bonds by evaluating market liquidity, pricing trends, and issuance supply.
- Create and update surveillance tools covering originations, market activity, performance tracking, risk metrics, and valuations.
- Contribute to reviewing transaction amendments and waivers by understanding covenants and deal structures.
- Collaborate with credit research analysts to monitor sector and individual credit exposures.
- Work alongside senior members to perform due diligence on private equity and alternative investment opportunities.
- Build and maintain ongoing relationships with sell-side teams, including sales, trading, and syndicate functions.
- Manage the monthly pricing process for private placement bond holdings, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Conduct special analytical projects supporting portfolio managers, senior management, clients, and desks as required.
Qualifications
- 4 to 5 years of professional experience within asset management, investment management, or investment banking.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
- Preference for candidates pursuing or holding CFA certification.
- Experience in asset management with exposure to infrastructure or real assets is a plus.
- Strong abilities in credit analysis, finance, economics, and technical problem-solving.
- Proficient communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong analytical thinking.
- Capable of managing multiple analytical and research tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated dedication to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Effective team player with the ability to operate independently and work with diverse, geographically spread teams.

Compensation and Other Details
The anticipated annual base salary ranges between $145,000 and $150,000. The salary mentioned covers the base pay and does not include potential additional incentives or benefits. Actual compensation will depend on factors like experience and location. This is a full-time, onsite position based in New York City. The company is not engaging agencies for this role.
