Primary Objectives
- Coordinate preparation, monitoring, and closure of piping test packs supporting mechanical completion and commissioning timelines.
- Ensure test pack documents are accurate, complete, and comply with project specifications and quality standards.
- Act as liaison among construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams for readiness and turnover of test packs.
- Facilitate timely handover of piping systems in accordance with project milestones and client expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage preparation and collation of piping test packs referencing approved P&IDs, isometrics, and line lists.
- Maintain test pack registers for tracking progress from preparation to system handover.
- Identify and communicate delays or constraints to project teams, prioritizing critical systems.
- Coordinate with construction to verify mechanical completion before testing.
- Partner with QA/QC teams to confirm completion and approval of inspections and NDT reports.
- Ensure inclusion of all required documentation such as weld maps, material traceability, and test reports.
- Track and close punch list items prior to acceptance and system turnover.
- Collaborate with pre-commissioning and commissioning teams to synchronize priorities.
- Authorize release of piping systems for testing based on documentation and readiness.
- Assist in planning hydrostatic and pneumatic testing activities with stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit finalized test pack dossiers for client approval.
- Ensure proper signing, approval, and archiving of all test-related certificates and records.
- Work with subcontractors and vendors to resolve documentation gaps.
- Provide regular status updates highlighting progress and bottlenecks.
- Support certification processes for Mechanical Completion and Ready for Commissioning phases.
- Maintain adherence to HSE and quality standards throughout test pack management.
- Participate in audits and client reviews related to documentation and turnover.
- Assist with systemization and boundary definition aligned to project priorities.
- Address and resolve any coordination or documentation challenges impacting completion.
- Utilize completion tracking tools such as WinPCS and SmartPlant for reporting.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- At least 10 years' experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or EPC/PMC project settings.
- Demonstrated expertise in piping test pack preparation, coordination, or QA/QC documentation control.
- Solid knowledge of piping systems, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and line lists.
- Familiarity with piping codes including ASME B31.3 and pressure testing requirements.
- Experienced with QA/QC processes and turnover documentation.
- Proficient with completion management software such as WinPCS or SmartPlant.
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and clients.
- Experience on large-scale projects, preferably in the Middle East energy sector with major operators or EPC contractors.
