Job Overview
This full-time, seasonal position is based in Edmonton and surrounding areas, where direct public transportation access is not available. Employees will work over 10 hours per day on a schedule of 6 days on and 1 day off, with overtime applicable after 8 hours daily or 44 hours weekly.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee activities inside trenches to ensure pipelines are accurately installed within specified vertical and horizontal tolerances using precision tools such as levels or lasers.
- Align and correctly position pipes in preparation for welding, cementing, or gluing procedures.
- Supervise the backfilling process to confirm pipe bedding provides proper haunch support.
- Install and repair sewer systems, including sanitary and stormwater pipes and related structures.
- Champion and strictly follow the company’s safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety among all team members, subcontractors, and consultants.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, not limited to those listed.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Must possess at least two years of experience in pipelaying.
- Capable of assembling, connecting, and constructing pipes for storm or sanitary sewers, drains, and water mains.
- Proficient in ground preparation and trench excavation for pipe installation, including pipe alignment and joint sealing using cement or glue.
- Must hold a reliable personal vehicle for commuting to job sites.
- Wear CSA-approved steel-toed boots with a minimum 6-inch ankle support.
- Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening using swab-based tests.
- Complete company orientation and site-specific safety training.
Compensation and Benefits
