About B2Gold Corp.
B2Gold is an established international senior gold producer based in Vancouver, Canada, with operations in Mali, Namibia, the Philippines, and projects under development in northern Canada and other countries.
Location and Reporting
This role is located in Edmonton, Alberta, reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive payroll processes including employee onboarding, status updates, retroactive payroll adjustments, gross-up calculations, terminations, and verification of mandatory and voluntary deductions in compliance with relevant laws.
- Lead payroll quality control efforts by validating payroll data inputs, reconciling documentation, investigating inconsistencies, and applying corrective measures to ensure accuracy, mitigate risks, and prepare for audits.
- Produce, reconcile, and confirm payroll reports to guarantee precise and prompt disbursements of salaries, bonuses, vacation pay, and other compensation across various payroll groups.
- Oversee payroll compliance activities including preparing and submitting statutory documents like Records of Employment and year-end tax reports, while supporting audit processes internally and externally.
- Maintain thorough, accurate, and audit-ready payroll and supporting records adhering to corporate governance, confidentiality, and data retention policies.
- Act as the main liaison for payroll inquiries, collaborating with employees, management, Time & Attendance, Human Resources, and Finance to offer guidance, resolve concerns, and maintain payroll integrity.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in full-cycle payroll administration, including processing, data validation, reconciliation, and applying Canadian payroll laws, ideally within heavy industry or mining sectors.
- Post-secondary diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
- Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification.
- Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail; advanced skills in payroll and time management systems such as SAP SuccessFactors or Avanti; adept at managing priorities and ensuring data accuracy.

Additional Information
