Job description

Role Overview

As a vital contributor within a well-structured and driven Payments team, the Payroll Coordinator will oversee complete payroll processes, ensuring payments are executed accurately and promptly. This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager, encouraging the development of strong business relationships while maintaining excellent customer service.

Core Duties

  • Accurately and promptly process payments for employees and subcontractors according to agreed schedules and payment methods.
  • Manage statutory payments and handle pension auto-enrolment procedures.
  • Calculate payments due to statutory bodies and third parties precisely and on time.
  • Confidently address payroll, administrative, or tax-related queries from employees or subcontractors.
  • Ensure timely and correct HMRC submissions including Full Payment Submission (FPS) and Employer Payment Summary (EPS) reports.
  • Assist in payroll reporting, reconciliation, and finance-related payroll operations.
  • Keep the organization informed about relevant payroll and payment issues.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Essential prior experience in a payroll-focused role.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize daily tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Keen attention to detail in data entry, reporting, and calculations.
  • Strong numerical aptitude.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to perform well under pressure.
