About Path Construction
Path Construction is a national general contracting company based in Arlington Heights, Illinois, with numerous offices and active projects across the United States. Founded in 2008, the firm specializes in delivering high-quality commercial construction services while fostering strong client and community relationships. The company values driven, entrepreneurial team members seeking career growth and meaningful contributions.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Videographer and Content Creator to produce compelling video, photographic, and cinematic drone content that showcases our people, projects, and corporate culture. This part-time position entails approximately 15 to 30 hours weekly over 2 to 3 days, mainly based in the Chicago area, with occasional travel to other offices and job sites across the country (including Phoenix, Knoxville, Charlotte, and Tampa) about one to two times monthly.
Responsibilities
- Capture broadcast-quality video, photography, and advanced cinematic drone footage—including expert FPV-style drone navigation through complex and confined spaces—at active construction sites nationwide.
- Film and edit interview-based videos featuring employees, clients, subcontractors, and project teams, managing full on-site audio setup including lavalier microphones, boom mics, and sound levels.
- Collaborate with leadership and project teams ahead of shoots to develop storytelling angles and interview questions.
- Produce polished highlight reels and project videos that meet professional broadcast standards, delivering content tailored for recruiting, marketing, business development, social media channels, and the company website.
- Work with teams to identify fresh story ideas and content opportunities.
- Manage and maintain a well-organized digital library of all video, photographic, and drone assets.
- Operate drones within FAA safety regulations and company job site safety protocols.
Requirements
- Submission of a demo reel with application is mandatory; the reel must showcase advanced drone piloting skills, particularly FPV flying through tight or complex environments, and fast yet refined video editing with broadcast-level quality.
- Possession of a current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is required.
- Proven expertise in filming, editing, and producing finished video products under tight timelines.
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalents.
- Hands-on experience in on-location audio production for interviews, including microphone setup and sound management.
- Keen storytelling ability with strong skills in composition, lighting, and visual branding.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to direct subjects comfortably on camera.
- Ability to independently handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Comfort working on active commercial construction sites, adhering strictly to company and OSHA safety guidelines.
- Physical capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, navigate uneven terrain, climb stairs, and comply with personal protective equipment requirements such as hard hats, safety vests, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots.
- Prior experience within construction, architectural, engineering, or industrial sectors is advantageous.
Equipment
- Path Construction supplies standard professional DSLR cameras, DJI drones, and editing software.
- Candidates must provide their own specialized FPV drone equipment, including goggles and controllers.
- Use of personal drone or camera gear instead of company equipment is allowed.
Benefits and Compensation
- Competitive hourly wage ranging from $50 to $70 based on experience and skills.
- Company-provided cellphone and computer for work-related use.
- Access to financial and mental health support services through third-party providers.
- Participation in travel and entertainment discount programs.
Diversity and Inclusion
Path Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity in the workplace.
