Role Overview
The Operations Continuity & Emergency Planning and Assurance Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring the resilience and uninterrupted functioning of railway operations by identifying risks, analyzing disruptions, and preparing effective mitigation strategies. This role involves close coordination with internal teams, designing and overseeing emergency exercises, and supporting incident response to cultivate a state of readiness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain active collaboration with internal units to detect potential threats across railway infrastructure, systems, and equipment.
- Evaluate the consequences of different disruption scenarios on specific infrastructure components and systems.
- Formulate and suggest practical mitigation solutions to safeguard operational continuity.
- Create detailed emergency exercise plans that comply with relevant standards and encompass diverse incident scenarios.
- Facilitate the execution of these exercise plans in cooperation with internal teams, promoting a resilient organizational culture.
- Oversee, monitor, and assess the performance of emergency drills to confirm achievement of goals and adherence to standards.
- Deliver assessments and constructive feedback to boost preparedness and emergency response capability.
- Organize and support incident response teams in conducting tests on documented plans.
- Investigate the impact on critical business functions to determine acceptable recovery times and allocate necessary resources efficiently.
- Assist the Section Head by researching current and emerging technologies and industry best practices related to operations continuity and emergency readiness in the railway sector.
- Propose innovative technical solutions to enhance the effectiveness of current emergency preparedness plans.
- Contribute to drafting and reviewing the technical elements of OCEP standards and protocols.
- Examine data derived from emergency exercises and actual incidents to identify gaps or inefficiencies in resource deployment.
- Develop strategic recommendations aimed at optimizing resource use based on insights from data analysis.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Transport, Logistics, Management, Railway Operations, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in operations continuity, emergency planning, or a similar domain.
- In-depth understanding of the Saudi railway sector's contractual frameworks and regulatory environment.
- Proven experience in planning operations continuity and emergency responses.
