Network Security Engineer

Role overview

Tata Consultancy Services is hiring a Network Security Engineer to work on enterprise security operations and infrastructure protection. The position is based in Chennai or Bangalore and is suited to professionals with strong hands-on experience in network security technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of network security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion prevention and detection systems, web proxies, network access control, and VPNs.
• Manage and support security platforms across large enterprise environments.
• Prepare compliance reports on a monthly basis and whenever required.
• Handle deployment and configuration activities for network security solutions.
• Perform device upgrades and patching to keep security systems current.
• Carry out configuration control and change management tasks.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
• Develop standard operating procedures for routine operations of network security tools and services.
• Create and update custom rules for IPS services as needed.
• Track security advisory groups and ensure updates, patches, and preventive controls are implemented on time.
• Assist with forensic activities and related requirements.

Candidate profile

• The role calls for deep technical expertise in the network security domain.
• Strong practical experience in one or more areas such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, web proxies, NAC, and VPN is expected.
• Applicants should have proven experience supporting security solutions in enterprise environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting ability is important.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once are required.

Location and experience

This position is based in Chennai or Bangalore, India. The required experience range is 6 to 15 years.
