Network Engineer

About the Company

Join a Utilities Company as a Network Engineer for a 6-month contract with opportunities for renewal or permanent employment. This role is based in Tampa, Florida, requiring four days onsite and one day remote work.

Compensation and Eligibility

This position offers an hourly wage of $56. Work authorization is restricted to U.S. citizens or green card holders. Candidates must hold either CCNA or CCNP certification; additional credentials such as Cisco ACI, Cisco ISE, or SDN networking certifications are considered a plus.

Experience and Skills Required

• Minimum of 8 years of networking experience with specific expertise in Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, and Cisco Nexus technologies.
• Between 5 to 7 years of experience in planning, designing, implementing, and supporting both new and existing network infrastructures.
• Strong practical knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points for patching, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in configuring routers and switches as well as troubleshooting hardware failures.
• Experience in implementing network segmentation and Network Access Control (NAC) enforcement.
• Familiarity with network licensing optimization, cloud-based networking solutions, and hybrid cloud architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage high-availability enterprise LAN, WAN, SDN, and Operational Technology (OT) networks across facilities such as power plants, solar fields, and control centers.
• Manage the hardware lifecycle including installation, upgrades, patching, and refresh of Cisco routers, switches, wireless access points, NetScaler load balancers, and ACI fabrics.
• Develop and enforce network segmentation and policy strategies at both macro and micro levels in traditional and ACI environments.
• Administer identity and access management technologies using Cisco ISE for device authentication, posture assessment, and access enforcement.
• Address security vulnerabilities, manage distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection measures, and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Continuously monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex infrastructure, security, and load-balancing challenges.
• Lead network projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams integrating server, storage, and security solutions.
