Overview

A prestigious aerospace engineering position located in Taif, Saudi Arabia, for an NDI Specialist supporting Typhoon aircraft maintenance operations. The role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled Non-Destructive Inspection tasks in alignment with the Saudi Arabia SALAM Maintenance Organisation and the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) policies, emphasizing continuing airworthiness and quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out all assigned Non-Destructive Inspection activities as per the test regime requirements.
Ensure compliance with corporate and RSAF-approved procedures and processes.
Correctly utilize electronic data systems and follow established operating procedures.
Enforce engineering best practices and safety measures to minimize operational risks within controlled areas.
In the absence of the work centre supervisor, manage manpower coordination with Specialist Supervisors to maintain aircraft operational readiness.
Maintain and provide up-to-date departmental management and customer information upon request.
Ensure high-quality execution of all tasks and adhere to stringent standards.
Conduct seamless shift handovers and keep accurate daily work diaries.
Complete tasks within mandated timeframes to support the Air Ground Force (AGF) operations.
Promptly investigate components identified as defective, particularly when involved in incident reports.
Comply rigorously with health and safety protocols, ensuring availability, serviceability, and use of protective equipment during relevant tasks.
Use proper tooling and maintain strict adherence to tool control procedures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Formal technical qualification at NVQ level 3, ONC, OND, BTEC, or equivalent technical apprenticeship accepted by M&CA.
Minimum of 5 years practical maintenance experience post-qualification, supported by formally recorded workplace training.
Hold Specialist Level 2 NDI certification (e.g., EN4179, ASNT, PCN) in at least four methods: Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Eddy Current Testing (ET), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills capable of managing engineering teams at multiple levels.

Desirable Skills and Experience

Comprehensive understanding of company processes and aerospace industry standards.
Prior supervisory responsibility in NDI or related engineering fields.
Familiarity with Royal Air Force (RAF) and RSAF engineering procedures.
History of meeting strict deadlines while maintaining quality.
Experience in delivering workplace training.
Knowledge of ESS or similar electronic reporting systems.
Possession of second signature authority.

Core Functional Competencies

Demonstrated knowledge of aircraft maintenance and engineering principles.
Completion of a recognized aircraft engineering apprenticeship or comparable qualification in aircraft systems.
Experience working with fast-jet aircraft.
Working knowledge of EASA Part 145 regulations.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate activities, communicate, influence, and support decision-making.

Safety and Health Responsibilities

The role emphasizes a robust safety culture aligned with organizational values and behaviors. Responsibilities include adherence to the local Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) Plan, accident and incident reporting, participation in SHE meetings, and completion of mandatory safety training such as SHE Induction, Be Safe course, and Fire Awareness.

Compliance with Salam Enterprise Safety and Environmental Management Plan and related safety management plans.
Proactive communication of any safety concerns to line management to support the Salam Safety Case.

Additional Information
