About the Company

This role supports the orderly, respectful, and sanitary running of the hospital mortuary. It involves applying Ministry of Health infection-control requirements, preserving the custody trail for deceased patients, and maintaining safe conditions inside the cold-storage area.

This position is open to Saudi nationals only.

Role Summary

The mortuary technician is responsible for handling deceased patients with care, ensuring documentation is accurate, maintaining temperature-controlled storage, and supporting safe transfer and release processes in line with hospital and regulatory procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept deceased patients from clinical units, confirm the dual-identifier labels, and record each transfer in the morgue register.
• Track and log cold-room temperature and humidity according to established procedures, and escalate any out-of-range readings without delay.
• Oversee cleaning and disinfection of storage areas, hydraulic lifting equipment, and work surfaces using approved hospital disinfectants.
• Follow Ministry of Health precautions for high-risk infectious cases such as COVID-19 and MERS, including shrouding and bagging requirements.
• Support forensic teams with identity verification and specimen preservation when the case is under police investigation.
• Hand over deceased bodies to relatives or municipal services in accordance with hospital process.
• Maintain environmental safety and hygienic standards throughout the mortuary and cold-storage facility.

Qualifications

A diploma or associate degree is required.

Required Compliance

A valid SCFHS registration is mandatory.

Language Requirements

Arabic at an advanced level and English at an intermediate level are preferred.
