Job Overview
We are currently inviting applications for Microbiology Technician roles on a six-month fixed-term contract, located at our Lynfield Auckland laboratory. These positions are crucial during our busy Dairy Season and involve assisting with sample preparation, media preparation, and related pre-work tasks. Candidates will gain valuable hands-on experience in a commercial food testing laboratory setting, working 40 hours per week, including weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing sample testing efficiently within designated turnaround times.
- Strict compliance with all laboratory protocols and regulatory quality assurance standards.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records at all times.
- Ensuring the work area is kept clean and organized.
- Demonstrating flexibility to work extra days or overtime as laboratory operations span seven days a week.
Candidate Profile
- Currently studying for or holding a Bachelor of Science degree, emphasizing Microbiology or Food Science.
- Experience in a fast-paced working environment is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively within a team, maintain focus on repetitive tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent time management skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Microbiology preferred.
