Microbiologist

Overview

Located in Rewari, Haryana, India, this position as a Microbiologist supports the Quality Control Microbiology Laboratory by conducting microbiological tests, environmental monitoring, reviewing data, and managing quality systems to ensure adherence to GMP, GLP, regulatory, and company standards. The role demands timely microbiological testing and release support for raw materials, finished goods, water systems, and packaging resources while sustaining laboratory excellence and audit preparedness.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing on raw materials, finished products, water samples, and packaging materials following approved protocols and specifications.
• Carry out environmental monitoring within manufacturing areas and microbiological labs, analyze trends, and report findings.
• Prepare microbiological media and conduct Growth Promotion Testing (GPT) to aid lab testing.
• Review and interpret microbiological results, ensuring data integrity and compliance with GMP/GLP standards.
• Support investigations related to deviations, out-of-specification/out-of-trend events, change controls, CAPAs, and annual product quality reviews.
• Perform microbial identification tasks and investigate environmental or product-related microbiological deviations.
• Engage in qualification, validation, calibration, and regular checking of microbiology lab equipment, methods, air handling units, and laminar airflow systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific field.
• Prior experience within a Quality Control Microbiology lab in pharmaceutical, healthcare, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing industries.
• Comprehensive understanding of microbiological testing methods, environmental monitoring, water testing, microbial identification, and aseptic laboratory procedures.
• Knowledge of GMP, GLP, data integrity principles, and relevant regulatory guidelines.
• Experience managing lab quality systems including deviation handling, CAPAs, change controls, and audit readiness.
• Familiarity with equipment qualification, validation, calibration, and maintenance within microbiology labs.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, documentation proficiency, and data review capability.

This role works at the convergence of quality, compliance, and laboratory activities, collaborating extensively with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), and Supply Chain teams to uphold product quality, data accuracy, and continuous enhancement of microbiological processes.
