Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support our Waitematā Brewery operations based in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland. This permanent full-time position requires participation in a rotating shift schedule, including AM and PM shifts and an on-call roster once fully trained.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform planned and preventative mechanical maintenance on brewing and utility equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimize operational downtime.
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and inspection of utility assets throughout the site.
- Inspect, repair, and rebuild hygienic process valves, actuators, seals, and related brewery machinery.
- Collaborate with operators and maintenance teams to maintain reliable plant performance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold best maintenance practices.
- Maintain adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, food safety, and environmental requirements.
- Provide critical support during maintenance activities and brewery shutdowns.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a Mechanical Trade Certificate or New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical), preferably Fitter & Turner.
- Minimum of five years’ maintenance experience within food, beverage, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
- Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving abilities.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety-first practices.
- Demonstrated team collaboration skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shift patterns as part of standard operations.
