Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support our Waitematā Brewery operations based in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland. This permanent full-time position requires participation in a rotating shift schedule, including AM and PM shifts and an on-call roster once fully trained.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform planned and preventative mechanical maintenance on brewing and utility equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimize operational downtime.
• Assist in the operation, maintenance, and inspection of utility assets throughout the site.
• Inspect, repair, and rebuild hygienic process valves, actuators, seals, and related brewery machinery.
• Collaborate with operators and maintenance teams to maintain reliable plant performance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold best maintenance practices.
• Maintain adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, food safety, and environmental requirements.
• Provide critical support during maintenance activities and brewery shutdowns.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a Mechanical Trade Certificate or New Zealand Certificate in Engineering (Mechanical), preferably Fitter & Turner.
• Minimum of five years’ maintenance experience within food, beverage, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
• Strong fault diagnosis and problem-solving abilities.
• A proactive mindset with a commitment to safety-first practices.
• Demonstrated team collaboration skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work rotating shift patterns as part of standard operations.
