Mechanical Inspector and Mechanical Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Inspector and Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This dual role involves overseeing mechanical site inspections and providing engineering expertise to ensure all mechanical systems and installations comply with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections before mechanical work begins to verify readiness for installation activities.
• Respond to Work Inspection Requests from contractors and take actions according to project procedures.
• Supervise and inspect installation of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, fuel systems, and other mechanical services for adherence to approved designs.
• Document any non-compliant works through Site Observation Reports or Non-Conformance Reports.
• Verify that all materials, equipment, and systems delivered on site meet project submittals and manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor contractor compliance with QA/QC processes, ensuring proper execution of inspections and testing.
• Enforce adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations during mechanical works.
• Witness and validate mechanical testing and commissioning activities including pressure testing, flushing, balancing, and system performance testing.
• Maintain detailed records of inspections, testing, reports, and corrective actions.
• Ensure conformity with local authority requirements, contractual obligations, and international standards.
• Prepare regular inspection reports and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
• Coordinate effectively among contractors, suppliers, specialists, and stakeholders to support timely project completion.
• Assist senior engineers in reviewing mechanical shop drawings, material submissions, method statements, and technical documents for compliance.
• Review MEP and mechanical designs throughout all project phases for compliance with standards and regulations.
• Evaluate material and technical submissions, shop drawings, and method statements for adherence to contract requirements.
• Analyze mechanical design calculations such as HVAC load calculations, pump head, pipe and duct sizing, hydraulic calculations, and equipment selections.
• Address Requests for Information, technical queries, and design clarifications from contractors and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with architects, structural and electrical engineers, consultants, contractors, and clients to resolve design and site coordination issues.
• Monitor installation progress to ensure compliance with approved plans, quality standards, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Review and supervise installations of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, LPG, fuel systems, and related mechanical services.
• Recommend and review value engineering proposals ensuring safety and functionality are not compromised.
• Participate in progress, technical coordination, and site review meetings providing expert input.
• Oversee testing and commissioning activities for mechanical systems to validate design intent and performance criteria.
• Identify design or construction discrepancies and suggest corrective measures.
• Review project closeout documentation including as-built drawings, test reports, manuals, warranties, and training records.
• Ensure integration among all MEP disciplines for seamless system operation and project success.
